With the mission of ensuring solid and long term financial health for Saint Saviour Elementary School and enriching the educational experience of the present and future students, a group of alumni, parents and faculty have formed “The Friends of St. Saviour Elementary School” (Friends of SSES).
Our mission has already begun. Plans are underway to break ground on a state-of-the art library media center. With innovative designs from architects at Pratt Institute, the new library media center will include modern technology and facilities for our students.
The future goals of The Friends of SSES are both ambitious and achievable. A primary goal is to establish a copious endowment to secure the financial well being of the school. In addition to the new media center, we anticipate immediate expenditures to upgrade and maintain our school building.
We are committed to providing current and future students with a sound Catholic education. To this end we are planning to create a scholarship fund for financially challenged parents of school aged children. By opening doors through a scholarship fund, we hope to enable more children to experience all that St. Saviour has to offer.
At a time when so many Catholic schools are in danger of closing, St. Saviour Elementary School is not only surviving, it is thriving. This is due to the resourcefulness of a tireless faculty, who continue to demonstrate unselfish dedication to the needs of our school, its children, and their families. The guarantee of solid financial support is essential as these educators ready themselves for a new wave of innovative educational programming that the future will demand.
Meeting these goals will not be easy. Revenues collected at our Annual Support Appeals and fundraising events will be a start. However, to raise the funds necessary for our long term success we will need the support of both our school community and the businesses in our neighborhood.
We invite the parents, alumni, neighbors and friends of all professions to assist us in meeting our goal. By supporting our fundraisers and working with us, you are our partners in achieving the long term financial stability of our worthy school.
